Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China. The history of the city dates back to the 4th century. BC, when it became the capital of the kingdom of Shu. The city is home to the famous Giant Panda Research Nursery, where visitors can observe the endangered bears in their natural habitat.
